Branchy

Now in open beta

Learn what connects.
Not just what you recall.

Branchy is a mindmap-first study tool. You draw how ideas relate, then practise recalling the connections — not only the facts — and watch each one move from shaky to mastered.

Built for university students, high schoolers & self-learners

The problem

Flashcards store facts side by side. Understanding lives in the edges.

Rote memorizationflat

Cards sit in a queue with nothing between them. Recall one and the rest stay dark — you can answer the question and still miss the idea.

Higher-order learningbranching

In Branchy you write the map by hand — ideas, branches and the links between them. Reviews sit next to that structure, so retrieval practices thinking: compare, explain, apply, transfer.

What you get

Three systems, one canvas.

Mindmap knowledge graphs

Draw a topic the way you actually hold it — freehand text, sketches, branches and cross-links on one infinite canvas. No templates, no forms; you create the structure.

Retrieval practice from your map

Every canvas gets its own deck. Write cards from what you mapped, hit Study to quiz yourself, and each card tracks from Learning to Familiar to Mastered as you get it right. The deck's coverage view shows which topics you're still thin on.

Real-time collaborative canvases

Share a link or QR code and build the map together, cursor by cursor. Your own devices can be in the same canvas at once — draw with a stylus on the tablet while the desktop holds the wide view and your deck, or sketch on your phone on the bus and find it waiting mid-stroke.

Two aesthetics

Study on paper. Or in the dark.

Long sessions want calm and paper; late, unplanned ones want everything but the page to disappear. Branchy ships both, switchable any time from your account menu — pick one here and the app you open follows.

Clay

on this page now

Warm cream, brown ink, flat terracotta accents. No glow, no gradients — a lit desk instead of a lit screen.

Noir

Near-black ground, cyan traces, high contrast. Late sessions, dim rooms, one thing lit at a time.

The canvas

Your map, wired for review.

One infinite canvas: draw freely, build a deck alongside it, and study straight from the structure you built.
